In the slower paced practice of Yin (or “quiet”) yoga, Kay will focus on spending several minutes in one posture to deepen muscle stretching. There are no standing postures, flows, or cardio. Unlike other yoga practices where muscles are strengthened through faster, repetitive movements, yin focuses on the improvement of joint health. This meditative class focuses the practitioner’s attention inward on breathing and being. Embracing the stillness of Yin both helps with mobility and flexibility as we age, but it works wonders for our mental health.
